I cannot call you much, in spite of your [?], as it is not allowed and having to censor my own letters makes it all the more difficult. One could say a lot more if someone [?] had to do it and at the same time I am glad I do it myself, as it would limit one very much in what one had to say about other things, in fact ones letters would become somewhat frigid.

We got fired on by 7 of our pals on our way up here, and they got unpleasantly close for about 10 minutes, before they discovered their mistake. Luckily the aim[?] was very bad and they did not hit us, but we ran[?] some and gave Congrats same time. I wish that I could tell you more, but there have been such informal vows[?] about people saying too much that it is not good enough. Sorry to disappoint you. You have not said anything about the lace[?]. I did not get it as, far as I know, you may not care for it lots of people dont. We are away from Malta now so if you want some I regret to say that you will have to wait until we go there again. I had a lot of riding while I was there and took a good many times[?] trying to learn polo, I gave it up as I am much too slow and have got no eye for it, but at is grand fun while you are [?] on your [?]'s back.
