Mch 31 cont'd - but what shall I find in Victoria? 7.20 m. Met by Nell & Luidey both looking well. Mother reported doing quite well. Nell & I stayed at Vancouver Hotel & Luidley went to Vets.

April 1 Tuesday - The greatest day of all. Glorious weather. Everybody at the wharf to meet us. Saw mother at Pentrelew who looked wonderfully well & knew me and greeted me in the old way. Harry 5.6 3/4 Mand 5.1 1/4 Tommy much grown also. It is great to be home. The house garden looking very well. Miss Coulter helping Nell & Rosamund. Donald staying with us while receiving his education

May 24 - 2qn Bn arr'd in Vancouver as a unit under Col Tobin. Maj Kirkland , Dirty Moon, Thom. -[illegible] reception by town - raining. Self took charge of Victoria party. Lt Stevens, Smith & Oakers & GS OR & came on to Victoria about where we were given a beauty reception - Marched through the streets at head of party to the time of march) A wet day but fine while we were landing & marching - Disperse at Wilows.
