26. Ice & snow everywhere but clearing off. [illegible] St. Lawrence R about 9 am & followed it up right bank to Pt Levis wh. we reached at 6 pm. Beautiful day. Quebec very misty. River full of moving ice. Crossed over new Quebec bridge in the Dark - A stupendous structure.

27. Raining. Passed thro v. monotonous country . Scrub timber mostly burnt. Piles of cord wood selling at $10.00 a cord for pulp. Rocks - little lakes covered with snow. Train v cold. Zero. Ran through a blizzard . Fine sunset.

28. Bright & less cold. Passed L. Nipigon about noon. Sioux Lookout first place of any importance. HBCo store & sidewalks.

29. Winnipeg at 7 am. Sunny. V. fine. new CPR sta. Left at 11.15 am. on CPR. Great welcomes at Portage la Prairie & Brandon.

30. Entered Rockies at sunset. V. beautiful.

31. In B.C. at last - Revelstoke at dawn. hv mists cleared. Ray grew fine & air splendid . It really begins to feel like coming home. Snow gone on the levels four Sieamous Mountains at least are unchanged.
