Dec. Very cold though warm enough at times. Brig Genl Petchero Grosvenor & Tom Taylor were also Rolston. 55 present.

1918 Jan 1 - Cold & snowy. Bn route march. Went for a ride with Maj Wilmot. Air crips & day fine.

4. colder than ever. Ch of Inquiry on theft of cask of wine (C Company).

7. Thaw

10. Weather changeable but turning into rain. Floods and -. Some companies drowned out. Very miserable for the men. Platoon competition in Bde - 29th 1st.

11. Roads now clear of snow. Warming for move - No [illegible] at returning to trenches.

14. Div. inspect postponed on a/c snow. [illegible]. to lunch.

15. Rain & strong wind. Bn won in the competition. Thunderstorm. Fine ride horse with the C.O.

16. Bn won officers revolver competn.

17. Rained hard. Inspection by Brig Genl Petersen. Sat on my first [illegible]. as a member. Preparing for move.
