A.D.C. as an officer of 29th Canadian Infantry Bn. 6th Bde 2nd Divn, Unit patches worn on outside of arm at shoulders.

All dark blue rectangle 2 ½ x 3" Trianble 2 ½" high This signified 3rd Bn of 6th Bde of Divn.

Ordinary trench kit for an officer. Steel helmet sanded with mist - patches in colour on each side small box respirator (worse at "alert" position) for gas. Colt automatic pistol '450 cal & ammn pouch. Flash Lamp. Haversack containing rations extra socks & sometimes light waterproof trench boots with rubber blocks on soles - Oak walking stick with iron point - in pocket - maps - message book - compass. Sometimes binoculars mess tin & water bottle but not usually. Generally a coat of some sort would be carried.
