Oct 20 Frid Cold frosty night - same as yesterday work party at night repairing trenching. Very quiet.
Oct 21 Saty Frosty night & very cold very quiet - working party at night - mud very sticky & slippery
Oct 22 Sund Frosty night - mud as before. Detailed to take out Co advance party to Noulette wood Arrd there in turn Old French camp in large huts on slope at edge of wood. Had hot bath & change of underclothing free [illegible]
Mon Oct 23 Fine but cold. Day of Rest. Ross remaining in bed took his place in my capacity as 2nd in Com. working parties for whole Co except officers all night Rained hard. but milder
Tues Oct 24 Still raining & mild
