Tues 12 Sept More heavy shelling on our trench. German aeroplane brot down just outside the trench all in flames. Out in front all night again with working party. No casualties but marvellous escapes. Got back to our trench absly "all in.|

Wed'dy 13 Moved into reserve but heavy cannonading of nearby batteries did not help. Rain.

Thurs 14 Sept The Way. Recd 10 lrs from home, 2 papers & 1 parcel 38 observn ballon in sight & numberless planes. Catterpillars - Custance currd by badly wounded.
