Satdy June 10 Orderly officer. Raining as always. Very cheerless and uncomfortable. Brig inspected lines.

Sund June 11 Brigade Ch Parade. Memorial to Ld Kitchner. Afterwards with Pocock walked to Ashford 8½ miles. Had magnificent lunch at Saracens Hd 9/-. Met Kenneth McCallum there - visited very fine & interesting parish church. Many tablets to Tennent family. After cruising about walked part of way back & then took bus. Had tea in Sellinge with Howard & McKenzie. Very pleasant day. Detailed with 11 others to School of Musketry at Shorncliffe tomorrow.

Mond June 12 Went to Napier Barracks Shorncliffe in am & began course. Had lunch at 30 Bn mess
