To return to the war for a moment. Has not this year more than ever proven the wonderful strength & resources of Germany. Notwithstanding our unbroken successes what have we really achieved towards breaking her strength & how much has she slaughtered herself in Russia in Austria & Italy? Why need the worry about her colonies? She can easily buy them back. She has so much to offer. It will take some extraordinary development quite unforeseen now to prevent a stalemate so it seems to me.

Aeroplanes may do much but they don't kill many soldiers & that is really the only thing that counts. However light may shine yet & if it does how we shall all bask in its rays.

With much love to you all

Ever

Your affectionate brother

Arthur D. Crease
