is dead. I had no idea of that.

Today Roberts has sent me a very nice card & quite a cheerful letter considering they are facing another move. Arthur Bridgman has sent me pipe & tobacco Watts a pipe of the best. Two parcels from Nell - Pentrelew's & your cake I have already thanked for. Zeffie's muffler must have meant a dreadful cost in wool to say nothing of the work! I don't like people spending money on me though I do like to think I am not forgotten. There is nothing like letter writing.

It seems that the Christmas card I was sending you got overlooked so will send it now. Not very Christmassy.

Bessie & Violet Fowkes sent me a very nice box of sweets & I have written to thank them.
