over this than any other event even the tug of war. There is a full blooded Ojibway Indian in the last reinforcement. He is very clean steady on parade a good boxer & lively & quite a favourite. He is quite a little chap & slight but he holds himself well & seems to enjoy himself. He is called Nokusis.

Some Russians have joined us & some are well spoke of. By the way I forgot to say that Arthur Lane was of our lunch party also. How strange all this & if one survives how strange to look back on. It will have been a great adventure but there is no place like home.
