Is not your birthday on the 15th? Whenever it is I wish you many happy returns of the day, many years of usefulness with the satisfaction of knowing that they have been useful and have been appreciated . That day will be memorable to me also for additional reasons.

I am back with the Battn + shall resume my duties as Asst. Adjt under Col. Ross who has taken over the command from Col. Tait. The work promises to be very interesting.

I am glad that you are taken some part in politics if only for the sake of having some decent men in the game

I saw Victor Eliot at Boulogne just returned from leave + looking very well.
