Bishop de Pencier is to hold a service here this evening & I hope I shall be able to get away long enough to hear him but it is hard to leave & my stool for the Asst [Adit?] is always in demand.

However now we are out of the trenches I can get to bed by 11 & don't have to be on duty before 9 am.

Things do not look well in the East at all but we are doing all right out here & keeping the initiative. German [Documents?] captured from [time?] are most interesting & some are almost incredible. Unfortunately I can only whet your curiosity, not satisfy it - I have such a nice letter from Meg Walney. I shall certainly look her up in London. She is again sending me a parcel. Love to all & best Christmas & New Years wishes to all in the office.
