Then the final smash with the casualties getting thicker - the clear view of the evening followed by actual contact & in some few cases by hand to hand fighting as the men jump into the trench & take possession. Then the glorious moment of shooting down the bolting Fritz. Last of all the hot work of reversing the trench & holding it under concentrated shell fire.
