In these trenches one runs up against all kinds of fellows. Yesterday it was a chap called Farquhar who was with Anson at Quesnelle & afterward in Peace River - He had been in our office.
The German officers always seem to do themselves well - even in this new trench they had a deep dugout with mineral water & whiskey & boxes of sugars. Here come the shells again.
