Though the helmets have cloth covers they are gay underneath with much gold on black patent leather.

One taken today had the iron cross fastened on the front.

These fellows seem to be Prussians big husky fellows but only the officers are good fighters. Bridgman is still ok although he was in the attack. Andrews has not been in. We are certainly getting all the experiences there are and very few of them are pleasant. I had another great compliment paid to me by the CO but I can't indicate it
