It is flat here & near the sea which however is invisible we lie so low - I am writing this between parades lying in my blanket on the ground & using my suit case as a desk. Lydd is a pleasant town or village of a wholesome type - Our men are welcomed every where as our officers as a great improvement on what they have been getting.
