June 9th Otterpool, Kent Having reached England there is no reason why I should not state what you probably know very well that we embarked on the huge Olympic at Halifax & arrived at Liverpool yesterday. After a delightful train journey through England after [?] we reached here last night By the kindness of a French Canadian Bn. Leg'r we got some Dinner of sorts likewise breakfast otherwise there would have been nothing for us as only the tents had been provided. Our future movements are quite uncertain. We have had nothing but depressing [rains?] since we sighted Ireland. The Hampshire's loss. The terrific casualty list of Canadians including the wiping out of Battalion
