Dearest Mother,

That night I ate an omelette with mushrooms for dinner, as it was a "meatless" day, and as a result had a bad attack of diarrhea all day yesterday. I managed to report to Headquarters in the morning and found that I have to go to Borden again for a day to do some photography and bomb dropping practice, which I have never had. This will take only a day but it will cut into my leave horribly as we have to be ready by next Saturday to leave for the port of sailing. The boat may not sail for a week or so later, but we have to be ready to go by that time I am getting my supply of leather and woollen
