Mrs. Blomfield received a letter from Tommy D.-B. yesterday and he is up and about again. The poor lad had seven wounds in his body but none of them serious. On top of that he got a touch of scarlet-fever so he must have had a rotten time. However, he is O.K. now and his wounds almost all healed. He says he is very well treated but begs his aunt to send him parcels containg chocolate and cigarettes and margarine. The latter (all fats) seem tremendously short in Germany now.

Some people have all the luck. Here I am doing nothing much but playing tennis and eating my meals. I certainly is a delightful rest for me and is doing me no end of good. The weather is great – nice and bright but not too hot. (Lunch bell)
