Besides the things on the instrument dashboard I have around me a couple of little canvas pockets -one for spare maps, and one for chocolate, etc-, a little bag with a field service dressing in it, a little black cat mascot, a hammer and lever to clear the machine guns when they jam and a rack for holding a Very's light pistol and ten Very's signal lights of different colors , oh yes -and a Pyrene fire-extinguisher clamped to the floor under the seat. Then on the instrument board I have an instrument registering the speed of my engine in revolutions per minute, a compass, an air-speed indicator registering in miles per hour, an aneroid barometer registering the height in feet up to 28 thousand- I haven't been up over 17,500 as yet-, a watch (8 day), a bubble to indicate level or uneven flying, a pressure gauge for my petro-feed and a glass pulsator through which I can tell how the lubricating oil as feeding.
