Letter No. 2.

In the Field January 22, 1918

Dearest Mother

Five of your letters reached me all together, forwarded from Cox's just a few days ago. It certainly was good to hear from you again. I have now received nine of your letters in all and I can't understand why there are not more as Cox & Co were aware of my whereabouts always and the Army P.O. should have been able to find me through the War Office records. The parcel has not yet arrived but I am expecting it every day. It has probably been following me from place to place in England. In accordance with your wishes
