The examination of

Fong Wy of Victoria in the Province aforesaid taken on this 10 day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty four at Victoria in the Province aforesaid before the undersigned one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said Province in the presence and hearing of Guy Wah Shue, Ah Keung, Ah Kow, Yip Mong Guen & Pown Shuk who is this day charged before me,

This deponent Fong Wy upon his oath deposeth and saith as follows: I have heard my information read and it is true. I went down to Kow Hung to get a smoke of opium. I found the pipe not fit to use and went next door to borrow one, after I came out to the door
