Q;- You said you noticed some marks or scratches on the bottom of the car ? A;- I noticed the manifold outlet has a small dent too. Q;-Didn't amount to much ?A;-No. The dent might have been worse I meant there wasn't any obstruction of the tube. Q;- The absence of any serious condition of the bottom would indicate what to your mind as to the velocity of the car ? A;-Well, to me it appears to be going at a fair rate of speed, as there was little damage to the bottom of the car. There was none as I could see t the two rods and I examined the bottom throughly. Q;- Did you hear a witness say, Mr Hutchison say," I could get out"? did you hear him say that when the machine crashed through the bridge there was no perceptible jar " ? If he has stated that, what would that indicate as to the velocity of the car? A;-It would be going at a fair rate of speed. Mr Ladner:- Did you talk about this evidence over before you came here ?
