Q; - Did you notice the lights after the accident?

A; - Yes; the lights were burning.

Q; - Did you notice particularly the light was burning in its proper position?

A; - Yes. I noticed the light when coming along that bridge. I many a time come to see before bedtime to look at the lights.

Q; - That explanation - can you give an explanation to the jury about the lights?

A; - Well, it is my opinion that if the light is any protection at nights, I think that in case the red light was burning they would not attempt to come through, when they can see it all right.

Q; - A red light shining on a highway, it is a warning, it is a warning to traffic on the highway warning to stop?

A; - Yes.

Q; - Is there an possibility that the red light would not be showing along the bridge on the highway?

A; - No, no, sir; On a perfect night like the night was; it was a perfect night.

Q; - There is no possibility it was a green light in place of the red? A; - No, sir, because it is fixed.

Q; - Will you tell the jury how it is fixed?

A; - A line and a weight from that side and also a line and a weight from that side.

Q; - A line and weight from the east side and a line and a weight from the west side? A; - Yes. Over that is the white. That side line holds it in its proper position.

Q; - Are you prepared to say that is a mechanical impossibility for the green light to be showing along the highway when the bridge is open?

A; - Way I remember it is.

Q; - When the bridge is open the red shows along the bridge and highway and the green up and down the river?

A; - Yes, sir;
