Last Friday Paul came down the river and told me and some other men that he had found a body in the Fraser River above here. We went up and saw the body. and found it to be that of a Chinaman. We took it on shore. I did not know the chinaman. I had heard that a chinaman had been upset from a canoe some distance above Popcum. I know the chinaman but I did not know his name.
