Midnight to 6 am at Bristol - Turn men loose to get grub at Soldiers' Home - the Yankee young gets mixed up with some foulmouthed girls - Hung up 1 1/2 hrs. at Westbury + Newbury - No transport to meet us at Winchester  - start to march men out, but are met by officers in motor. Visit Lashly's brother in hospital. Attend service in Cathedral - Back to Newbury.

Drive of 15 miles with Mr. Elliott around by Hatcham [?] + Bucklebury - old oak beams in latter church 1591 - church much older - old square box pews. Writing letters in afternoon + Taken to contata "the Crucifixion" in the evening.
