I made a hurried trip to Namur yesterday, from Ardenne, went by boat up the River Mense I was much interested, it is quite a fair sized river and the trip was quite decent. I had very little time to look around the town however as it was late in the afternoon when I got there, the town is quite large and some very nice shops but everything fearfully "ogspensive", they place was fitted with British Troops. I bought you a little souvenir Mother. Just had time for that! actually go through the city of Mons, though we passed by on its outskirts. One almost felt as though one were treading on sacred ground there - where our glorious original army made such a name for itself in the beginning of this war, at heavy cost.
