I got $2.60 in Victoria, the extra $1.00 goes for Messing. In the Imperials a 2nd Lieut. only gets 10/6. At any rate, I will have to carry on here in the meantime, and all the time I am learning, perhaps I might be able to arrange a transfer later on, if I was keen to get out of this, I don't mind much what I'm with as long as I can get over soon.

I wonder what you all did yesterday on 24th. Hope you had a better day than we had , it was a holiday here although I put in most of my time writing up my notes. Glad to hear you are getting interested in the gardn, how are the "vegets" coming along? are there going to be any "early June peas"!

My love to Mother and yourself Your affect son Erroll
