Well I made a special visit to the 4th Bn Argyles and had a personal interview with both the Colonel & adjudtant, he seemed a very decent old boy (I'm speaking of the Col.) and from what he said would be very glad to take me on his Battn, he also wrote me a letter to that effect too so that if I get fed up with the Canadians I can easily transfer provided the Canucks will let me go. In his letter I quote what he says. This is to Certify that in the event of Lieut E.P. Gillespie of present serving with 1st Canadian Reserve Bn. at Seaford being allowed to transfer |
