Dear Miss Russell,
You may be wondering where in this wide, wide world I have got to, from the [?] of my failure to acknowledge your welcome postcard of Nov. 15 till this late data. It gave me great pleasure and arrived just a day or two before Christmas while I was in our Seaford military hospital being "repaired" after an attack of the Grippe and rather sore throat.
