It gave me great pleasure and arrived just a day or two before Christmas while I was in our Seaford military hospital being "repaired" after an attack of the Grippe and rather sore throat. Previous to going in I had just completed [?] final musketry course for classification, in which I posed as a first class shot, and maybe the dampness was responsible for bringing in this slight malady. Anyhow they sent me over in a motor ambulance (just as easy to walk!) and I had a [soft] time of it for ten days. They gave me another joyride back to camp just before Christmas in time to spend it with the boys in camp. For New Years I had six days leave and again went home to Cambridge and surprised the folks by dropping in unaware without [sending?] more than |
