So most of us now are getting flashes of our own. Gee that sure is some list. I think the Horse Artillery got it for they were pulling out and I guess one of them just picked it up as he went past it. I had my haversack and tin lizzie together & found the steel lid about six feet from the other kit so I guess he just picked it up and kept-a-going. It sure is a dirty trick to steal a man's personal kit out here, as a person had always got little things he don't want to loose. that glass (the steel one) that Hutch gave me, and your soap but I wanted to keep them to take back besides little curioes (Gee I can't spell it.) but your right next time I leave my haversack bag out I'll lay with it. I sure am going to keep it with me after this. Well I am at the horse lines for a few days. it sure is a lot quieter then the guns. but then Fritz never shelled us. the shelling was all one way. Say but our sub. were a rare bunch when our gun went out. it got so hot it kind of warped in the craddle. the day before, the piston head came of. it is awiated on. So you'll know [illegible] I got the Inf. say the barrage was wonderful. Well I got to run of. |
