but [illegible] M[?]les he wrote that he had had a terribly tough time getting out. One of his stretcher bearers was knocked out & he had to crawl the last 4 or 5 hundred yards. He also had a touch of shell shock. I know the front he was in & it is a hot one alright. However he writes quite cheerfully & is in a very good hospital. There is a young chap here who is the organist of [r?] C. church in England. He plays most beautiful on the panio. It is quite a that, unfortunately he is leaving today. I got your letter dated  Oct 23rd, & glad that every thing is still lovely. The weather still keeps June here
