My Dear Mother: We have not had a letter from home for some time, at least not to my knowledge. I have just come off piquet and am staying in for a change. As things look now I will be out fairly late every evening for the rest of the week. the battery gave a swell dance in Lester Court last Friday. Bert and I went and had a ripping time. Bert took Katie (Goulay) from Westminster. There were 20 dances and six extras. I only missed one dance. it was 3.30 before I got to bed.

My Dear Mother:

We have not had a letter from home for some time, at least not to my knowledge.

Saturday night I went to the Orpheum to see

BC Archives, MS-0249 Box 1 File 13 / ELLISON FAMILY. Vernon. / Mrs. Price Ellison, correspondence inward from her son Vernon Ellison, 1917-1920.
