blooming error, no such luck.  It appears they had another 2/300 officers coming in in about 10 days time & they wanted more instruction. I said "nothing doing" right away, & the Commandant said "Why not?" and I said "Because I want to get to the Front". He said "Cause you do better by remaining with your unit", & at that I began to think. Of course I could do nothing with the 62nd & we were out at Sir Landling away from everything.  All my hopes of getting over rested on Col Burland (the Commandant of the CMS) so I said, "If I come & help you through this rush will you help me over to France after?" & he said "Yes" , so I accepted , really having no other option & now I am instructing in "Organization & Administration". I hear that they sent in a splendid report about me as a result of the Staff Course.

My brother Frank over again yesterday. This already had 8 months in the trenches - & joined a month after I did - seems funny , doesn't it?  It looks as though I were flunking it.

Just family, [illegible] having another baby - she is joining it. Why I expect you to have a large family meal - Hope it comes off alright - Evie he's my love - Why, what with Larry, Brooks, Studd, & Harris Martin ; Vancouver will be a regular criche soon, Good luck to them all.

So really Dodie old girl I just didn't get your photo & I would like one very much if its a good one - I have never had one of you.  You offered me several snapshots which were not like you & I report them [illegible] my own memory of what you looked like
