Mch 1.  Fine all day.  At the Chch met David J Stewart 2qn Bn formerly C Co Clerk & who when an Officer  was wounded on reconnaissance at Canal ou Nord Marquin & reported missing.  He had been taken prisoner.  He reported that he had been well medically & [illegible] by Boche Surgeons otherwise his leg wd not have been saved when he was wounded on 5 Sept.

Feb 22. - Gale. Played golf. Could not get a medical board so I miss next steamer.

23. Sunday - Went for a walk with Ellis 72Bn to pretty old Village of Alfreston. Had an excellent tea and Liblinton.

24. Went before Med. Board. Some trouble about my casualty report being missing.

25. Acted as Field Ofr for Monday for the whole Bde area.

26. Wire from Jessie that mother has broken her leg. Papers still incomplete. Went to see everyone about it but Argyll Ho say papers must be complete.

27. Saw Maj Will PD Pemberton & Maj Allan Brooks the naturalist & animal painter rifle shot, a very nice fellow.
