4.  To town & thence to Plymouth.  Stopped at Grand Hotel - went to Keytrain[?] Barracks & found that [illegible] Defender (Capt Ralph Roberts had just sailed.

5.  Fine with glimpses of sunshine.  Train to Saltash & walked to Nice Castle.  I had some tea with Edwin Deacon (blacksmith) & his wife at Louglands.  Found that he has some of the original fire dogs from the Nice.  The  Castle  falling into peak disrepair but

Feb 28 - I turned over my duties as Asst Adj to Daniel and went on leave - arrg Boulogne about 8.45 pm.

Mch 1 - Very bad crossing. Sleet & storm. Arrd London about 3.30 pm. Saw "Lilac Domino" stopped at Russell Hotel.
