Sat'dy 2 Sept Training all day in attack & musketry.

Sund 3 Sept Training all day in Divisional attack.

Mon 4 Sept Capt Morrison & I walked into St. Omer in pm. Batt'n marched in & entrained at 9:30 pm & left at 11:05 pm. Men in dirty horse boxes. St. Omer absolutely unlighted after dark.

Tues 5 Sep Arr'd Candas 8:30 am. Detrained & marched off 10 am and at billets La Vicogne 12:30. Raining & uncomfortable. Full orchestra of artillery welcomed us back to the front.

Wed'd 6 Sept Marched at 8 am. Reached camp beyond Courtay at Vandencourt 12:30 pm. Camped in beautiful wood with fine prospect. V. heavy bombardment.
