Tuesd July 11  Rec'd notice of appt up to 29th Bn with Bridgman Andrews Capt McKenzie Pemberton.  After a late bkfast + early lunch Joe + I went to Ashford + walked back making a northerly circuit - the first + most interesting country we have struck.  Fine park at Mersham Hatch Hall.  Heaps of rabbits.  Anot[her] aeroplane raid last night but knew nothing of it.  Fire orders to stand by.
