Tuesday 30 May  Struck tidal water on St. Lawrence this side of Rimouski having passed Quebec in night.  Followed down Matapedia R though slighted settled country to salt water at Matapedia.

Reached Campbellton NB at 1.30.  Muster parade + march in [illegible].  Overtook No. 1 train here + 89h overtook us.

English level green meadows rounded trees.
