Apl 20 1916 Second inoculation for typhoid

May 23 After many false alarms 88th Battn CEF Col Rous Cullin commanding embarked on Princess Charlotte at 5.00 p.m. having had a magnificent & hearty & sympathetic crowd which seemed to be composed of psnl friends. Scene of moving colour of massed heads on wharf seen from steamer bridge never to be forgotten. Day perfect. Saw Nell on way down & Maud & Tom in town. Also Mother Susie + Zeffie at Pentrelew. Lindley walking down with me. Embarked at Vancouver. Rd ½ in Train No. 1 under Major Harrison Train 2nd half including Cos. 3 & 4 under Col. Our train left at midnight. All orderly well behaved & cheerful.
