see from the papers are fighting hard and successfully along the whole from from Switzerland to the sea. I am myself in a comfortable billet in a large town so I have much to be thankful for. My work is going on well and increasing in responsibility and I find myself treated with much kindness and consideration.
Please thank Lindley for a very fine round cake he sent me in a tin. It was very good and we all enjoyed it very much. Zeffie's last letter only took 3 weeks to come which is much quicker than usual.
My health is good I am glad to say . Much love you to dearest Mother
From your loving second son
Arthur
