I have seen them flock round one such when they had many pleasant distractions within reach. Of one excellent man whom I met they tell a story. An order has just been issued calling for the putting down of gambling. He found himself in an officer's mess where they were playing roulette. They chaffed him as the only man who stayed out - "Padre, you ought to put something on the table." He pulled out the regulations & threw them on the table & smiled. So did they. | ||
