& tactical knowledge. These schemes for instance could be made much more of if we were allowed more time before going on the ground to work up the principles & study the map. Today is the first day on which greatcoats have seemed superfluous & the mildness in the air was very delightful. Only one more week here & then another of those blessed railway journeys.
Physically I am fitter than when I came though the weather has been trying & I feel that it will be easier to take whatever may come in the future.
