He has seen quite a bit of the real thing but still not quite as much as he probably would give you to understand. He had a bad time at ________ though no worse than many others only his nerves did not stand it as well as he would have liked. |

I am glad you have seen something of J.C. Ross. He is not a very heavyweight nor anything as fine a man as many of our officers but still he & I got on very well which was a little unusual.
