Our mess here is somewhat improved now. The rate has been reduced to $1.25 per day. Up to the end of May I paid nearly $57.00 mess dues, so it might be worse. You said something about dues including wines, but I can reassure you on that point. The mess is 'dry', I think because the province is dry.

Little Tommy Drew-Brook is on a week-end leave in Toronto. He and his mother were in Toronto when the war broke out, so the whole family are living there now. Tommy is going to make a most daring and resourceful pilot, though he makes mistakes as we all do. He has "crashed" a couple of machines, and they tell us after we have crashed three machines we can "crash gracefully". That is we can it without making a "show" of it.
