Regina vs Ah Maw.
The prisoner's statement.
Having been duly cautioned by the magistrate that he need not say anything in answer to the charge unless he decided to do so but whatever he might say would be taken down in evidence against him and used against him on his trial
Saith as follows
I killed Ah Hing I would not have struck Ah Hing if he had not struck me. Ah HIng took a gun to shoot me I got one knife and struck him. That knife that constable took from me. If I should be hung I want to be hung here I don't want to be taken to Victoria
