THE EXAMINATION of C P Bloomfield of said City of Victoria, taken on this Sixteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and seventy -nine, at Victoria , in the province aforesaid , before the undersigned , one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said Province , in the presence and hearing of Ah Keong who is this day charged before me. this deponent C P Bloomfield upon his oath deposeth saith as follows: I recollect Wednesday morning last when the alarm of fire was given. I went to the house that was on fire at Fisgard Street an arriving there I found the body of Chinaman whose name I believe to be Ting Pap, laying on the sidewalk quite close to the house
