An Order has just been made restraining you from selling the goods seized by you the said John Maguire for Chinese Taxes. The Order is now being drawn up and will be served on you as soon as possible.

I give you notice of the order and inform you that if you proceed further with a sale an application will be made to commit you for contempt. The Order is made in each case of trespass commenced against you the said John Maguire. Dated the 23rd day of September 1878.
